This China Airlines Airbus A340-300 took its first flight on March 4,
2001. Tail #B-18801 was one of six A340-300s the airline operated, and
was the first one delivered on direct order with Airbus, in April 2001.
The Airbus A340-300 was a luxurious, long haul aircraft which helped the
airline expand its international routes and was vital to its becoming a
major airline worldwide. It was retired to Victorville in March
2015. PlaneTags are made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not
merely stamped metal. Because PlaneTags are made from real fuselage,
each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the
portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare
to create two identical PlaneTags.
