This special edition PlaneTag is a piece of the nostalgic Aloha Airlines
737-200, Tail #N823AL. The “Funbird” designed aircraft was named
“Liholiho” after the fourth monarch of Hawaii. This Funbird design was
painted on the 1985 aircraft as a throwback to the original two Boeing
737’s that Aloha had ordered in 1968. The Boeing 737-200 was introduced
with improvements to the original 737 that included greater fuel
capacity and more powerful engines. The Liholiho was the 1,078th 737
aircraft built by Boeing, with a total of 1,095 of them produced.PlaneTags
are made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped
metal. Each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from
the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut. Therefore, it is rare
to create two identical PlaneTags. These variations and imperfections
are not product flaws.
