David Clark

If there is one iconic symbol associated with aviation headsets, it is undoubtedly the David Clark line with their signature green color and the trademarked ‘dc’ logo.

Founded in 1935, the Massachusetts-based company branched out from textile manufacturing to creating the first life-support “G-suits” used in the X-15 to its most-recognized product – the industry-standard aviation headset.

David Clark Company introduced the first noise-attenuating headset in 1975, creating the Active Noise Reduction (ANR) market that others have followed ever since. Pilots were amazed that cockpit noise could actually be cancelled by creating an opposite out-of-phase signal within the headsets. This revolution allowed headsets to be redesigned for comfort, clarity and high-fidelity communications between pilots and controllers.

Since then, the 'green domes' have consistently set the standard of comfort, quality and performance in aviation headset design and manufacture.

Today, the company’s broad line of passive noise attenuating and Electronic Noise Cancelling (ENC) aviation headsets for both fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft remain the top choice for general aviation and commercial pilots throughout the world.
