Headset Care Guide

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text="Headset Care Guide" font_container="tag:h1|text_align:left" use_theme_fonts="yes"][vc_column_text]You have invested in a good aviation headset to ensure reliable communication and a comfortable flight experience. Like any good investment, your headset will require some routine maintenance to preserve its utility, comfort, and performance.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text="Product Registration" use_theme_fonts="yes"][vc_column_text]Most aviation headsets come with a product warranty. We do not anticipate you having any issues with your brand-new headset. However, it is a good idea to get the product registration out of the way while you have your receipt, serial number, and registration card in front of you.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text="Proper Storage" use_theme_fonts="yes"][vc_column_text]Avoid putting stress on the cable assembly. Keep the cables free of tangles or knots and ensure that they are not wrapped too tightly around anything.  Always store your headset safely within the case provided. If your headset did not come with a case, Fallon Pilot Shop offers a large variety of options. A well fitted case protects the headset from harmful elements and accidental damage. The case is also useful for storing additional headset accessories like back-up batteries and cable adaptors.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text="General Cleaning" use_theme_fonts="yes"][vc_column_text]

  • Wipe the exterior of the headset down with a Celeste Sani-Com Towelette or a small cloth dampened with some mild soap and warm water.
  • Use a cotton swab to clear debris from any small crevices. Avoid using any sharp objects to remove residues.
  • Allow the headset to dry completely before storing

These items are generally not covered under warranty but are typically inexpensive and easy to replace. Your ear seals, head pad, and mic muff should be replaced every eighteen months depending on your flying environment. They may need to be replaced more often if:
  • The headset is worn over a full beard or heavy whiskers
  • The headset is subjected to severe temperature extremes— for example, if you leave your headset exposed in an aircraft parked outside in severe cold or heat
  • You notice flaking or tearing of the outer covering
  • You experience flattening of the ear cushion - reducing the effectiveness and comfort of the seal
  • If you become ill or the mic muff gets torn
